Headed out this morning to try and keep the streak alive. I'm hearing the surf is going to pick up pretty good in the next couple of days due to the hurricane out in the ocean.
Conditions were a little worse than yesterday. Light on shore breeze to start and there were clumps of Salad everywhere. I thought at first that wasn't a good sign. Some piles were 3 feet high. Nobody on the beach and it was nice having the whole beach to myself.
Hooked on the LC 110 Aurora Mackerel with the Izorline xxx 12#. Current was moving a little faster today and I could see sting rays all over the place.
Today it took me over an hour to get my first action, Changed to the plastic after throwing the LC and got nothing. As soon as I tied back on the LC on my first cast right before light I got a nice solid strike!
25 Inch Halibut! this one did some damage as Iv'e seen seen the eye completely demolished, she was pissed off. She made some real nice drag reeling runs and was flopping all over the place. After a nice fifteen minute battle I beach my prize for the morning.
