Taking multiple 'Licks at Once

Well, I'm hoping to get out fishing more, but yesterday my "Sugar Momma" wife lost her job due to restructuring and I came home to a bill from the IRS for $5K dating back to 2014.  After the initial moment of nausea that washed over me, I somehow felt calm and numb.  It's like the movie Dazed and Confused.  "It's better to get all your licks in at once because even the guys who didn't get you yet will give you a few days to recover."

Oh well, time to grind forward and really hope this doesn't cut into my fishing time.  I need to keep a 10 shark cushion if possible.  Not for necessity, but for comfort.   ;D

One window shuts.... Another door opens... Just an uneasy feeling during the transition.

Sorry to hear that.

I hate how our jobs are our "life line".

Been there more than once and it Sucks...

Hope things turn around quickly.

 Well, at least you got the tax bill on a day you knew was going to suck anyway. Could have ruined two days.

 Good luck going forward my friend. Although I wouldn't mind you lagging a bit on the sharks.

That sucks!! Hope things turn around and that she at least got a nice severance package to help if times get lean.

Been there before and may be there again at the end of this year as my wife will know if she has her job. Restructuring is currently ongoing. I currently work at a company that's in stage 3 clinicals, good data and we're dancing in the street, bad and I'm sending out resumes. Sucks cause both my wife and I are in biotech and you know how volatile that industry is. Good luck!!

Sorry to hear this, I have been laying low for a while and trying to catch up on all the posts  :-[  Hopefully the IRS will let you make payments so it's not so difficult. Hope your wife gets back to work soon as well  ;)
