The surf initially looked good, but turned out to be a cast to cast issue. One cast big lumps of grass and the next cast not a single blade of sea grass.
Steve and I worked a very promising area, but only got By-catch bites. I started off with a medium sized butterfly ray.
Fishing was fairly slow, so I turned the Jets/Bills game on my phone. I have to say that wanted to watch the game tonight (I'm a Jets fan) but wanted to fish more. It especially helped since the Jets pretty much beat up on the Bills even though the score didn't really reflect it.
I got one more fish which turned out to be a legal Calico (picture on camera instead of phone) and that was that. Steve's rod was quiet as far as real bites, but was losing baits to bait thieves at a good clip.
Overall, the surf was very fishable and the tides were good. I thought Steve or I was going to break out with a nice grinner, but no such luck. Oh well, got to keep trying.
Thanks for reading and until next tide!
