Horses and Circle Hooks.....
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Horses?

I love circles. Experimenting with using them in artificial presentations this year.

Horses?

I've been attacked, bitten, gored, trampled by everything from Tigers to Thompson's Gazelle.  The only animal that has almost killed me on multiple occasions (10 or more times) has been equids.  Nasty creatures... and I go into flight mode when those demons make eye contact.

I went 0 for 3 last night in the surf....

Jeez. Well, I’m not a horse girl either.

You just alluded to about a dozen stories that I would want to hear though.

What circles exactly are you using? For surf critters I really like 10/0 offset octopus circles. Same shape as the Gamakatsu but they only make up to 8/0 or 9/0 so gotta take a gamble on smaller online brands. Pretty good hook up ratio and always a perfect corner set.

Was it the circles I gave you? Did I give you circles?

I like circles, still haven’t caught a 7 gill on one though. Quite a few 6 Gills, but on 18/0 and 20/0.
Keep it tight

I'm not sure.  Really high-quality hooks and I'm guessing a 12/0 size as they are bigger than what Steve uses, but totally has a gap that would get in the corner of a shark mouth.  I don't set the hook and let the line load up so he can hook himself like your supposed to, but either the shark only had the bait and not the hook in his mouth or it just slipped right out...

Probably just user error, but I've literally done risk assessments prior to using circles and they still always bite me in the ass...

I'm with you on horses Tom, in Bishop both my daughters had them.  Guess who hauled hay, broke ice off the creek, ticked them while stuffing worm pills down their throats and cleaned hoofs?  Not a big fan myself, best day was when I sold the horses and my trailer as a package deal..........
