Been a while since I've hit the surf. Did a solo run as no one was free or willing to go. Conditions were near great. Some kelp clumps on the beach, but the incoming kept them out of my lines. Fished 2 rods to increase my odds. Used shrimp and bonito heads. Heads were picked clean and hollowed out. Got 2 spoof fins and 3 round rays on the shrimp.
Well, I beat the skunk. Also got poked by the last round ray. Decided to remove the bare handed. What a dumb a$$!! Actually, it wasn't bad. I saw it getting ready to poke me, so I pulled my hand away and it just got me. Felt a tiny bit of heat at the puncture spot and immediately started packing up thinking sh!t was about to go really bad for me. It was a 1.5 to 2 from a scale of 1-10 for pain. I got lucky!!
If I had a boat, I'd be loving all this warm water as I'd be out chasing pelagics, but I don't. I really miss spring grinner fishing
