Mission Bay Report (10/18)
« on: October 19, 2016, 06:26:26 AM »
Well, the surf was up and chopped salad reigns over the county beaches so Squatch and I hit the bay for the first time in a REALLY long time.  My buddy Andrew is out from the East Coast again for work and stopped by for the scenery as the fishing stunk!

I had one bass on the small bay gear that shook off due to my rusty-slow hook set.

Finally, my magic spinner doubled over and did the sharky bounce.  It was a nice one as Bullhead Sharks go, but was a grinner none the less so target acquired!

I love their chainsaw style tooth system.  It's like a finger Chipper/Shreader.  Stick your finger in there and only pull out bone, free of flesh!  lol

8pm rolls around and we are done...  The bay is kind of boring compared to the surf, but it is relaxing.  It was nice getting home at a reasonable hour also as I feel refreshed this morning, unlike my groggy no sleep mornings after a surf trip.

True that.  If those suckers got 6 feet long, then it would be interesting!

Nice puckermouth...I caught one last week and lip locked it with my thumb in it's mouth, let me tell you, I found out they have very strong compression power in those jaws, felt like a big parrot had my thumb in it's beak and was bearing down on it. Even worse I knew I shouldn't try to yank it out or it would be rally bad, just had to hold my breath for 15 seconds and wait it out...lesson learned, no more lip locking horns.. :D

Eating combos and cold drinks with fish. Does not get any better than that.
