Hammerheads in Surf
« on: June 19, 2017, 09:11:13 AM »
We just got intel of many local Hammerheads in the surf zone, but due to the shark contest going on.... I'm going to remain tight lipped about location.  Just know they are out there!   8)

Dirty, I know.... but t's nice to be IN the know.  LOL

Saw them as well. Except I don't think the same area as you but if you're headed up this way give me a shout. I thought it was still early for them. Figured they'd show up when the water got a lot warmer.

Totally a surprise for us, but super welcome. Will do. I think tomorrow we're twilight fishing and hoping for a harvest, or at least making some fresh shark bait.

Have you seen any since?  They were at Dana/capo that week and also the strand but I haven't heard or seen anything since.

Have not heard a peep since that day.  Weird how a whole bunch were spotted in the surf one weekend and *poof*, not a word or sighting after that.

51 macks at SC pier, squid are still showing although nobody brings squid jigs. Hooked something decent that felt different on a live Mack but got cut off. If they disappeared, they should be back anytime.
