Quest for the blue box
« on: February 05, 2016, 08:21:48 PM »
Always used the blue box of squish from Ranch 99 but they had small trays pretty expensive and Zion had boxes at $10. Where are you guys finding good squish for reasonable lately?

I may hit some batting practice tomorrow but need new bait.

99 ranch is where I always find the blue box.

I've also seen it at gelsons.

Ranch 99 has been selling the 1lb small white boxes for awhile now. I asked the fish guy and he said it may be awhile because they bought a sh&t load of it. I'm superstitious about the blue box, but so long as the squish are solid white in color they should be good to use.
Anybody have an emergency beer?

What others have said.  99 Ranch still has them, but squid is not as cheap as it once was.  The Blue Box stuff gets my seal of approval!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Been to 99 twice this week and no blue boxes. Zion has exotics and thawed stuff.

Superstitious on the blue box also. The giant squish are still cheap but heavy.

Blue box get my vote also, just been hard to find for several months.  I'll hit 99 Ranch next time, it's just a 30 minute drive out of my way  >:(

Found some at Lucky thanks Mike. Also had whole big freaking octopus there for the same price of 2.99 lb. H-Mart had fresh whole little octopus for $2.99 a lb. Nice sized about like a squish. 2 on a hook would look good. If I hadn't grabbed the big pus I would have grabbed some. No blue boxes there though.

Picked up some other exotics there also to test for the bat fight.

No prob, glad you found some. I dig that you like to experiment on different baits, saves me the trouble ;)

Sounds like the makings of a new thread...
