Hit the sand again with Andre (lightline22) to try and get us a grinner. He had some old a$$ mack and squish, I had some pristine a$$ mack
Other than dealing with some kelp and eel grass, the conditions were pretty nice.
He strikes first with a solid calico right around 20".
Had his 15' rod bouncing around in it's holder. I can only what it'd look like with a big bat or legit grinner on the other end. I'm getting harassed by bait stealers before I finally I can finally to get one to stick.
I wasted some quality macks just to get that little bug
I had several grinner type bites last night when I'd pin on a bigger mack piece, but my baits would always come totally shredded or have a big chunk missing. I finally got one to take the entire bait and it was a doozy! Had me going back and forth on what it was. 7 or bat? Hit like a 7, fought lie a bat. Even got me tangled up with Andre and then brought us both down the beach about 20-30yds. Had a tough time getting him on the beach as it stayed in a trough right near the sand resulting in 3-4' breakers that'd hit us right at our waists and up. Andre was getting a crash in tailing a grinner that can bite its own tail. I can feel several feet of frayed line as I'm guiding my line back onto the reel. That was getting me a nervous, but we got him on shore and we were finally able to hoot and holler!!
92" of angry guy grinner!! PB for me and now 2 up on Binh
Let me know when you wanna come back down Andre, we gotta get you one too!
