Nice report, but it never happened with out photos

That's embarrassing my corporate internet was blocking all of the photos.

Found some glow in the dark tape at a surplus store in Oceanside. The guy wanted 25 cents an inch :o

Looks pretty cool on the rod tips

Is there a shop in So Cal that stocks carbon fiber drag washes that may fit Shimano Titian Speed Master

Tackle Talk / LED Stike indicators

Found these on Amazon a few days ago. received 20 pieces for $9.08 about 45 cents each. They are cheaply made but should do the job nicely.

They ship a random assortment of red, blue and green. I ended up with 18 red and 2 blue. one has a dead battery and another is too dim to fish, but hay at this price I'll be giving several away for free. I'm not sure if I have the patience for the bell and I'm sure if you don't tape them on to your rod they would launch nicely out in to the water when you cast. :o

Jaws found some much nicer ones out there for a good price too but I'm happy to have something I can use over and over that didn't break the bank.

Cheers,
Sticks

My friend Jake and I headed out yesterday to see if we could pull a legal sturgeon from the frigged waters of the Columbia river.

Conditions were cold and wet with a rain snow mix and 15 to 20 mile an hour winds. After an hour drive up the Columbia river gorge to Hood River. We gathered our back packs and rods from the back of the truck and started or trek down a step embankment down to the rivers edge.

We fished from 7 am until 2 pm with only a few shakers (under sized fish) for our efforts. legal sturgeon for this section of the river is 38 to 54 inches. Jake had the secret bait and sauce and was able to pull 6 shakers from the cold waters. I hooked two, one was a nice fish but I farmed them both on barbless hooks.

It was a good time and hope to get back out before they shut down the retention on fish with in the next 5 or 6 weeks.

Jake with one of his fish

Cheers,
