You all know it was Tuesday night last night and there should be a report forthcoming from Tom.
Well, not today. Today the honor falls upon me.
There was a short back and forth over where to fish and whether to hit the bar beforehand to finalize negotiations. Final decisions made and we met at the beach.
Tom got there early and scouted locations. We had to try an unproven section of beach to avoid the crowds, but planned to migrate when they cleared.
Tom soaked a few baits while I enjoyed a beverage to gauge the salad situation. He got one mystery rip that may have been a hit and run, or maybe just a stringer getting sucked out in the wash.
I finished my drink and baited up. A couple casts later my rod started to bounce and twitch in a rather strange fashion.
Turns out I was on a roll. Well, a turd roll, but it was a nice fish.
Luckily, he had some helpful suggestions from passerby on how to frame the shot. It turned out very nicely. As a reward for their help, I gifted them the bass.
Here is another shot he took to solidify their information. Also very nicely done.
So, the night rolls on and it is very fishable. We decide to stay where we are and avoid the extra breakdown and set up as well as the hike over to our original destination.
Not really much happening bite wise, but the salad situation was very nice. Just a little here and there.
I got another bite that took off like a bat out of hell. I expected great things as I actually ran over to my rod. Nothing great, but a nice leppo was my catch.
Yet another nice photo from Tom. He is getting pretty good at this, don't you think?
Well, that is about it for the night. After we reeled in a couple 40# bunches of weeds each, we decided to split.
Yet another nice evening on the beach.
