The title says it all... been trying for some time. Had a super low tide (-1.6/3:30am) in my favor that I had to take advantage of and was happy to have Robert (Shoresurfer) along for company. Got to the spot and had ALOT of sand to cross to get to the waters edge, got baits into the water, confident it was going to help get our baits into the zone. Macks were thawing for some time in the small beach break and slight northern current...then the magic words were uttered by me this time..."15 minutes more then we reel in and move"... it wasn't more than 5 that my spool started spinning double time! Speedy and strong initial run with some tail slappage, first west then north. Gained back line when it swam back at me but hard to see until it erupted one last time in the skinny...SHARK!!! Tailed my 66" Soupie prize...
Quick pics and back she went...
We got baits back out and began to see dawns early light creep up from behind... I managed a full figured 50" momma bat that was built like a pyramid...
and a young gull that clipped my line...
Robert got something sharky (tail slaps) that completely spooled him...
Stock photo of Robert wondering things...lol brother!
I just want to say thanks to all who are part of this community, I've leaned a lot from all your posts and enjoy the shares and pics...
