I really hope it sticks for a few years too. Not only for fishing, but the drought conditions too.

Fingers crossed. Fishing has already kicked up on the hot side.

Stupid question, or maybe lack of experience here, but can dorado really be caught from the surf?

Just two days ago they were catching them 3 miles off oceanside.  They are caught in the surf off Baja on occasions though, so yep.
