Cool! Long term stay? Vacation or short term?
Prehistoric Soul - 2020
This has been an unprecedented year in the world and has slowed to halted many shark fishing activities during the peak times. Prehistoric Soul will be here when you need us. Read through some old posts and browse some categories. We also welcome you to write any articles that you may feel important to be here on the site. Soon enough, the sharks will return and we'll be back to normal, whether new or not.
This section allows you to view all posts made by this member. Note that you can only see posts made in areas you currently have access to.

Your not the only one, I've had to cut it down to a 6 pack myself as well 😄QuoteWalking way out on a rock jetty is for younger knees.
Amen to that.
Gone are my days of hopping from rock to rock with a 12pk in one hand with my rod and tackle box in the other
Age has taught me a "flask" is easier to carry than anything in a can
My flu has passed, so hoping to hit the surf soon. Not looking forward to the cold temps though!! What general area are we allowed to bring our own fire? That would definitely make it an easier endeavor.
Propane fires allowed everywhere.
How about wood fires and portable rings?

Old trick from working on snow removal equipment for 32 years (on highways where tons of salt was used). Antifreeze is one of the best Morse Cable lubricants out there. Unhook one end of the cable and do the following: cut a small opening in the corner of a large zip lock baggie. Put the cable in the hole to the point the inner cable is just inside the baggie and on the outside use duct tape to wrap and seal. Now you basically have a funnel. Hang the baggie/cable up and put about half dozen tablespoons of antifreeze in and let it hang over night. 99% of the time the next day you have a slick working cable
BTW......use straight antifreeze, not the 50/50 premixed
It is an improvement on trying to use a shorter rod. I got fewer snags and was able to drop the line straight down into tight spots.
No pics but 2 small calicos, one garibaldi, and a small sheepshead. All tossed back

Nice trout, Binh. Next week all of the lakes should be stocked to keep pressure off the few lakes that did already.
I think most of the north county lakes have already stocked their first round of trout. Dixon lake just had their trout derby and they put in 6K pounds of trout.
So, got the boat out of storage and the steering is stuck bad. Anyone have any solutions for getting the rod to move again (outboard)?
Anyone else having problems logging in? and uploading photos?
