San Onofre Fishing Tips?
« on: May 29, 2021, 06:21:00 PM »
At San Onofre at the campgrounds.  Going to soak some bait tonight. Anyone have any tips? I have macs and squid. I'm planning to do one pole each to start.

I fish there a lot.

Cast the baits in the water and you’ll get bit. Less waves the deeper it is
Keep it tight

I haven't fished San O yet, but imagine if you see surfers in the area, there is most likely a reef near by.  I personally use surfers as my que that deeper water or structure is near and so are the sharks.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

It’s a cove and relatively small, there’s no secrets to that spot. The fish are just there or they aren’t and when they are you’ll get bit.
