It's something else!
I got tired of waiting on my outboard to get out of the shop as there is STILL no end in sight after over 6 months, so I started perusing Craigslist. Ended up picking up a healthy 4hp Yamaha 4 stroke yesterday after work.
So I said to my lady, "get ready! We're going on a boat ride Sunday!"
Just gotta pick up my boat stuff from Thousand Oaks and move it down here!
Now this morning my car won't start.
............
Tow truck is coming in about 20 minutes. If the mechanic can turn the car around today, then maybe I pick up my boating sh!t tonight and launch out of Dana tomorrow. If not then the first trip back will have to be next weekend.
Hope the car is simple. I tore apart my car key fob last night to replace the housing because the buttons stopped working and the spring has been broken for a while. When the car wouldn't start this morning I thought maybe it was a dead battery from the fob's remote system messing with the car's electronics but I tried jumpstarting and nothing happened.
Edit: It's almost certainly the little glass transponder pill in the key that either got damaged during the fob change or at least needs to be reprogrammed to my car. So my car is out of commission at least til Monday. Getting to work at 0500 Monday morning might pose an issue.
While I'm on the topic of keys, I braided some 7 strand AFW wire for a key ring.
Edit: had to cut the wire key ring so I could give the car key to the mechanic. I find that to be a fitting cherry on top.
