Headed out this morning to try a local beach and one that I haven't fished for awhile. Very happy to see the south swell is picking up and bringing up that warmer water for the Halibut bite too improve.
Windy conditions this morning and over cast skies. Strong onshore breeze. I had to use a heavier hard bait to get into the zone. Went with the Lucky Craft Surf Pointer 130MR Pearl White.
7Ft Diawa Coastal Medium Heavy and a Diawa Exceler LT 4000D-C
Looked the are over and found some decent looking water too fish. Waves were pretty big on the outside. The Halibut were stacked up pretty close on the inside. Water is getting warmer finally! Made some casts far left to get my line tight in the zone. Paid off pretty quickly. Ended the session with twins.
2 Halibut just over 22 inches and they looked exactly the same size. Game warden game by and even double checked my measure for me. lol
Nice to be on the beach on a beautiful Sunday morning here in So cal fishing the beaches.
Here is some pics.
