Had plans to meet Steve (Treecatcher) about 8:30 for a shark sesh, he had fresh queen fish for bait plus we had macs and some bat ray too. He got new waders and was stoked to show them off. No more wetsuit he said.. lol
. Conditions were good, we were right on top of the hi tide, only slight current and occasional salad. We tried the queen fish for a bit for only critter bites so we switched up to Mac. After a short soak Steve gets a legit screamer but is too late to pick up the rod and stick it home. He’s bummed as he reels in a clipped off Mac tail but still has his sweet waders
. Just a few minutes after, my rod starts peeling out and l set the hook home on what was probably clipping off Steve’s bait. Speed runs left and right, definitely sharkish attitude. Steve finally gets his chance to sandhand for me, a beautiful looking 72” Soupfin, and a new PB soupie too..
