Headed out bout 6:30 am and started chucking the LC. No wind to start and it was very calm.

12lb P-Line on a Sahara, with a Diawa Coastal. Strong current on the dropping tide.

Went too the sport that was producing yesterday and fished it for an hour without even a bite.

Took me three hours of moving around and casting the LC before I would get the first action of the day. Some times I would throw the Kroc for a bit, but I would always go back to the LC.

When I'm casting on the rocks I always look around for a Halibut landing zone. I want to be prepared in case I hook into one. Glad I did cause it was a freight train strike! Maybe because I was going against the current some this fish felt legal right off the bat. Wham! 3 solid runs and my reel is going zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Im glad I had the drag set right too! Took a good 5 minutes and I found her a good landing zone.

This fish was a real fun fight!

measured out at just 21 inches! I was wrong. haha! It did seem like it though.

Well I did get one today and it took a lot of time, but in the end it was a great weekend of fishing. I did see a guy get a 25 inch Halibut on a live Sardine.

Everyone pretty much knows the area so I don't mind sharing. Thanks for reading and tight lines.

No legal but oh so close, maybe next time.

Haven't been out to fish much lately except for last Saturday's Bat fight.

Got a new LC, the Jacksmelt 110. The color of the lure is really well done, and today's outing proved that.

Here is the LC.

Started casting in the goon with conditions just epic this morning. wind was blowing about 5 MPH. This kind of threw me off a little. I thought there would be bigger waves with the wind, well there wasn't! Started fishing the dropping tide 2 hours in. First spot yielded no hits. Decided to change it up and then it was on.

Strong surge didn't make it easy, but after a few casts I was getting the LC right were I wanted it. I kept the line tight, but not to tight, and I felt a nice wobble. First Strike up the day was a fun battle.

Then the blitz hit. Very next cast I hook up again.

same area.

On the next cast I hook up again. It was alot of fun. Wow! The feeling!

3 hali's and didn't lose any in the rocks and I still had my lure.

Then in the same area 5 minutes later I get another strike.

Biggest of the day. and another one I didn't lose in the rocks.

Started fishing some to try to get 5 for the day, I guess I reeled it in to fast cause I saw a big white flash come up from the bottom. That was the legal I was looking for. Today wasn't meant to be. Tied on the Kroc and got a nice strike, but I missed it. Felt good to be back out there and it was beautiful outside there this morning.

Thanks for reading and good luck out there.

Oh and check out this nice hole I saw from the rocks on the beach! Wow! Tried to pull something out but it never happened.

Tackle Talk / Krocodile Question

Was wondering if there was a way to keep the stock treble hooks from rusting? I do rinse off after every session with fresh water. It seems there is a welded ring keeping the treble on. Is it hard to cut off this ring? Is it hardened steel? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! :o
