We hit a number of spots at Cuyamaca on Friday due to a "Double Plant" of trout from Jess Ranch and DFG....

Wind was 25-40 mph consistently and the water looked like chocolate milk.  Steve scored on about $30 in lures and lead off the shore, while I stared at the "Cuyamaca Witch" project on the shoreline.  Lots of trout in there, but where is anyone's guess!

Stayed a couple hours after you left. No better luck, but I did hear of fish caught.

Stopped at a local watering hole for a beer on the way home.

Like the mountains, but Dixon gets its first stock next week so I will be chasing trout a little closer to home next time.

Wonder what the water temp is, I'd imagine a bit on the warm side which would send trout to the bottom.

It will pick up, wait for the cold fronts to move through and sh!t weather to arrive.

They stock trout in Lake Cuyamaca year round.  At 4,600 feet, it sustains trout all year long.  Pretty cool place, but I got you.  It was not trout weather for sure!  lol

Trout are the pickiest species I've ever encountered.

For all we know it could be wide open tomorrow.

I'd rig up one rod with an inflated crawler 2-3ft off the bottom. That's if the crappies aren't too thick.
