My 3 year old son has been asking me to take him fishing since I took his older brother out a couple of weeks ago. Opted for the harbor since I knew I could guarantee him some fish and hopefully get him "hooked"
We got to the dock about 6:00pm, I tied on a sabiki tipped with squid and tossed it out for him.
As I'm getting my rod rigged up he says "Dad, my fishing pole is going BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!" I said, "That's a fish! Reel it in Buddy!"
A minute later his first white croaker hit the deck. I couldn't get him to hold it though
Tossed it out again and talked a bit while munching on gummy worms when the pole starts to slide off his lap. I grabbed it and handed it back so he could reel in his second. Got him to touch this one and said, "That fish has snot all over itself!"
Then he got bored and want to do something else so we walked over to the shopping area for a "beer".
No trophy catches, but made some precious memories.
